The "waste of time registration shuffle".
Ah the joys of school, as I mentioned earlier I got all my courses picked out for this year and was ready to register but I wasn't able to yet. So last night when I finally had a chance to register for them I rushed right over to the website and logged in. I got onto the page for registration and went to select the first term to register for those courses, I highlighted were it said Sept - Dec Semester 05 and I clicked submit, much to my dismay I was taken to a page with a bold statement "You are currently unable to register". Now I couldn't understand how that was possible seeing as how just two months ago in May I went in and filled out all the appropriate paperwork to be a registered student of this fine institute of academia. So I decided to see what could possibly be the cause of this, I assumed there was some fee I had not paid thus delaying my registration. So I checked and I saw that there was a down payment for first semester that was supposed to be paid by new students, I'm not a new student but I hadn't been at the school for two years so I figured it must apply to me too so being that it was already after midnite I decided to wait til morning.
At the wee hour of 8 am the next day I awoke and took the dog out for a pee, then chatted with my roommate Tony for a moment and then it was down to business. I picked up the phone and called my dad telling him my predicament and the need of the $200.00 fee, he said he would be glad to help just go out to see him so he could give me the money. So off I went to see my old man for the money, than it was off to the campus to figure this problem out. I arrived on campus and was immediately reminded of my favorite part of university life,... The girls, here it was not even the beginning of the school year yet there was plenty to see. But alas I was there for a greater good, had to educate myself, so I went to speak with the registrars office. The lineup was short so I didn't even have to wait long, once I got up I explained my problem and she looked at me and said "shouldn't be having a problem everything is fine on my computer here." "Alright then" I said so she pointed me off to the web registration help desk and off I went. The help desk was conveniently located on the other side of campus (of course) once I arrived I waited for a couple minutes and was than given a hand by two nice tech support people one of which was one of those attractive girls I mentioned earlier. So I once again explained my problem and they began to look into it for me after a moment or she looked up and said "oh, it says here you aren't reactivated your gonna need to go to the admissions office".
At this I sighed and got up and began the trek back across the campus to the admissions office, conveniently located across the hall from the registrars office but nowhere near where I was. So I returned back to the other side of campus and went to the admissions office yet again explained my situation and was again looked at and told "everything seems fine here, let me double check with the registrar" so I slumped myself down in the chair and sighed again (for like the 15th time that day, even my mohawk looked like it was sighing) she came back and said "everything seems fine to us let me just call the web help desk". So I sat for a little longer and waited and as she hung up the phone and looked at me I thought, boy another disappointment I wonder what it will be this time. She told me I was to march back down to the web help desk and everything should get straightened out fine. Off I went strutting across campus yet again trying to keep from being distracted by those lovely, pretty, hot, beautiful girls I saw on campus. Finally I arrived once more at the help desk I sat down across from the same two people and looked at them with some cross between annoyance and sorrow and said "So hows about I register now" they looked up and said "It looks good here now but I swear it didn't say that when you were here earlier". I thanked the two of them for the help and left the campus for home so I could finally register, however that adventure is for another day.
